Pappalecco Gelato Lounge San Diego

Pappalecco Gelato Lounge is an eclectic café near Little Italy in San Diego. It is not a large place but seems to be popular with local people. There is a few tables inside but an abundance of seats street side. People pile into the café and make their way to the sidewalk to enjoy the California sun. All types of visitors and locals make their way to the café in an attempt to get their morning shot of caffeine or a quick bit to eat.

The storefront may be small but the menu is large. Ranging from breakfast to evening meals one is sure to find what they are looking for. In the morning one could opt for Mare, which is eggs, mozzarella, smoke salmon, zucchini or mixed green salad, or could come in the early evening and walk away with a pizza. They also have a large selection of cakes, ice cream and other snacks.

My visit was pleasant. With book in hand, a cup of coffee, and a Pollo (type of sandwich) I made my way to the street where tables were easy to find. It is possible to sit, socialize, read, and watch the street traffic move through. The area is full of people walking around the sidewalk and locals appear to be friendly and outgoing.

Mystic Coffee-Small Shop with Neighborhood Appeal

If you are seeking a little coffee get away far from the cookie cutter establishments of more upscale locations you might want to check out Mystic Mocha.  It is not on a main street or located in a high traffic throughway but it does offer plenty of traffic. It is a neighborhood coffee shop primarily known to locals and off of the beaten path for unknown visitors.

The location is small with a half dozen tables on the inside and a number of lounge chairs in the yard. The inside is simple and doesn’t hold any expensive thrills or masterpieces of art but is comfortable enough for a few hours. However, one can feel comfortable in a place like this as not a single person has anything more to prove than the other.

The menu is somewhat limited with sandwiches, burritos, wraps, mochas, ice coffee and regular coffee. Yet this is quick eating and run type of place. Price is generally under $3 for a cup of coffee and $7.00 for an artichoke wrap. It is possible to order a breakfast wrap and a coffee for around $9.00. Nothing you order will be particularly fancy but it is not a fine dining establishment.

Most of the visitors live within a few blocks of the establishment and walk to the establishment. It located right on the corner of a residential neighborhood and seems to be a converted shop of sorts. However, it is a nice place to sit and read a book with adequate Internet strength for anything you want to accomplish. I would not suggest going on a hot day as there is no air conditioning but when the doors and windows are open there is plenty of air circulation.
