Pappalecco Gelato Lounge San Diego

Pappalecco Gelato Lounge is an eclectic café near Little Italy in San Diego. It is not a large place but seems to be popular with local people. There is a few tables inside but an abundance of seats street side. People pile into the café and make their way to the sidewalk to enjoy the California sun. All types of visitors and locals make their way to the café in an attempt to get their morning shot of caffeine or a quick bit to eat.

The storefront may be small but the menu is large. Ranging from breakfast to evening meals one is sure to find what they are looking for. In the morning one could opt for Mare, which is eggs, mozzarella, smoke salmon, zucchini or mixed green salad, or could come in the early evening and walk away with a pizza. They also have a large selection of cakes, ice cream and other snacks.

My visit was pleasant. With book in hand, a cup of coffee, and a Pollo (type of sandwich) I made my way to the street where tables were easy to find. It is possible to sit, socialize, read, and watch the street traffic move through. The area is full of people walking around the sidewalk and locals appear to be friendly and outgoing.

Cafe Calabria - Just a bit of everything!

Café Calabria is one of those interesting establishments that has just about everything you want in the same place. During the morning, they serve breakfast, coffee in the day and evenings, and it transforms into a pizza parlor at night. With the large selection of different times for different tastes, it is doubtful that you will become bored anytime soon.

Beside the large selection of wine, they also have a wood burning pizza stove. Wood burning stoves create a much better product than gas stoves. Like the French oven, it affords an opportunity to smoke as well as cook your food. It is hard to find this type of cooking artisanship in today’s world.

The establishment has been ranked twice as some of the best coffee in San Diego. You can find that a wide assortment of coffees, lattes, teas and other drinks. If you are looking for something with a little zing in it, you can always try out some of the wine they carry on the rack.

Most importantly, the café has a strong Internet service. This is important for those who desire to take their laptop and other electronic devices. The Internet is one of the main services cafes and coffee shops can provide as it is the most modern and effective method of communicating and doing work.

The location also fits under the $10 rule. One can find a small sandwich and a large cup of freshly brewed coffee for a reasonable price. If you need to spend a few hours doing work, browsing the Internet, or doing some research this is a nice place to attend.

The neighborhood is full of people and is located on a busy street. Therefore, you may have a hard time finding a place to park your car. Don’t be surprised if you need to drive around the block a few times. Yet once you get there, you will enjoy the atmosphere.

Café Calabria has a couple of areas to sit. The patio in the back is a nice place to enjoy the sun and talk outside. The rear area is laid out more like a coffee shop and offers a place to chill, drink, or put your laptop down. The front is the restaurant area that gets very busy during the evenings. There are even a few chairs on the sidewalk for those who like a lot of action.
