Poem: Pillars of Blue

Poem: Pillars of Blue Bright ocean view, From a rocky pew. Dancing foamy air, We sit as a pair.  Holding hands into the night, Until the horizon is out of sight.  Poems are short stories that express a single thought or idea. This poem discusses the simplest things in life and their importance. We sometimes forget how life is only a flash in the greater universe. Many of the things we chase seem so important but are useless at the end of the day.  I have met many people who have maxed out their credit cards, bought huge houses they didn't need, clothing they couldn't afford, and jewelry that decorates their outward beauty. Even though these items enhance our lives  they are not truly part of our very existence as a people. The best things in life are free.

An Analysis of "There is Another Sky" by Emily Dickinson

There is another sky, Ever serene and fair, And there is another sunshine, Though it be darkness there; Never mind faded forests, Austin, Never mind silent fields - Here is a little forest, Whose leaf is ever green; Here is a brighter garden, Where not a frost has been; In its unfading flowers I hear the bright bee hum: Prithee, my brother, Into my garden come! Emily is trying to convince her brother to return from Boston to Amherst ( 1 ).   The poem discusses how things are already better and greener in our home towns. No matter where we travel and why we travel, home will always be home.   Our lives are rich and deep in our place of origin and time only makes such memories more mystical.  Some have argued that the poem is about a feeling ( 2 ).   It is a poem of optimism that helps one see the possibilities beyond what is currently available. There are better places, greener pastures, and worlds still unexplored. It is optimism that keeps most of us moving

Short Story: Dusk to Dusk, Ashes to Ashes

Painting by Dr. Murad Abel Short stories have the ability to spark the imagination and lead the reader with a thought or concept to ponder. Each store is unique and became popular over the 17 th and 18 th centuries from the storytelling of the past. They made their way into magazines, books, newspapers and other printed works. The short story is designed to quickly entertain the reader while leaving a lasting impression. Short short stories, or flash fiction, has a basic structure such as the exposition (introduction), complication, climax and resolution. The difficulty with such stories is that they are so short it is hard to build a story with dynamic characters and therefore descriptions are generally brief and artistic. It isn’t easy to write a clear store within a page or two. Short stories are also known in China where they are called “smoke long” which means they are finished in about the time you smoke a cigarette. Most of the great writers like Ernest Hemingw
